I used to have a favorite coffee mug. It was this mug my family got me for my 50th birthday, and it used to be my go-to. (I like rabbits, ok? And I could never bring myself to shoot one for some reason. I used to tell my dad "missed it!" when hunting rabbits and pheasants as a kid, but I'd miss the rabbits on purpose. I didn't miss the pheasants.)
But then, I bought a few of these Stanley camp mugs to try them out, and I have to say...sorry family, but I haven't reached for the "rabbit mug" in a long time.
The double-wall, insulated Stanley also means I can pour a hot coffee or a steaming hot tea, and I don't burn my hands at all when grabbing the mug without using the handle, like I would've on my old faithful coffee mug. Plus, it keeps my drink warmer longer, especially important for cup #3 that I don't drink as fast as the first 2 in the am.
It's also super light, so I can bring it with me on hikes for hot drinks at the end of the trail or, occasionally, a hot soup cooked in the Stryker. Throw it on the back of your pack with a carabiner and take with you hiking - it's very light.
The camp mugs come with a plastic lid that can prevent some splashing around. The lid doesn't completely close, and I suppose it would be good to have with you when camping to keep the bugs and dust out of your drink, but I've found I hardly ever use the lid.
The last tip about this mug I'd share is that this is called a "camp mug" and not a "car mug" for a reason. The mug doesn't fit in my F150 nor my Jeep Wrangler cup holders very well at all. If it was just a tiiiny bit smaller, it would fit both vehicles nicely. But - I still take it with me on the go sometimes even tho there are better tumblers for taking your bevvy around in the car with you. This is called a camp mug because it's optimal for, you know, camp. Home base. Your desk, your coffee table, your bar.
Finally, I'll say this...Stanely seems to be reinventing itself as a brand. Apparently, (as I was informed by my 2 daughters) all the cool kids love certain Stanley tumblers now, which was surprising, since I always thought about Stanley as the brand my late Uncle Frank used when toting his coffee to work every day as a carpenter, in his dented-up, green Stanley thermos. Who would've thought that a brand that was created in 1913 by a New York physicist and that was carried on board B-17s by American pilots during World War II would now be a "cool-kid" brand?
But - I don't use TikTok and I don't know about what Stanley products are cool or whatnot. I just know this mug has become my daily go-to mug for hot coffee and tea, and it works perfectly for me. The price is right as well, so I don't mind if I lose one or run over one. Overall, I highly recommend the Stanley camp mug.
