Van Horn • Free range hunts on multiple large ranches across the southwest Texas area. Milder terrain hunt options and also physically challenging hunts for those wanting to get off the beaten path. Available in September through early November for the rut and January through March. Guided and semi guided hunt packages. Most hunts include 1 Javelina or Hogs and Predators. Lodging varies for each ranch. 1 to 6 hunters can be accommodated as long as we have availability, only a handful of rams are taken off each ranch each year to ensure a high trophy quality.

With the YO ranch being one of the best known of all game ranches, many of the hunts we offer take place near this historic ranch, putting you in the middle of excellent exotic hunting. We hun many different ranches and are able to cater your hunt to your needs and game wants. Over the years, many exotics have escaped and are found free-ranging on large cattle ranches. Two of the best free-ranging hunts are for Blackbuck Antelope and Axis deer. Blackbuck is best hunted in the fall and winter months when they are in their full Black color phase. Axis deer on the other hand are best hunted in late May to mid June and most are coming out of velvet and going into the "roar" or rut. During the rut, these deer will call similar to the way elk call, but the sound is very different.

Texas, United States • Ranger Creek Ranch is one of the few Ranches in West Texas that offer free-range Aoudad Sheep Hunting. Our ranches in Knox County are located on mesas surrounded by cedar breaks and 200 feet deep canyons. This is perfect habitat for the Aoudad Sheep which come out of the canyons during the winter to feed on the small grain field mesa. These Aoudad Sheep have very keen eyesight which makes it a very challenging hunt. The hunter may either hunt out of a blind or spot n stalk. At Ranger Creek Ranch, we have viewed Aoudad herds with animals numbering as large as 50 per group. Among these herd animals are several trophy-size and state record rams. Several aoudad that have been harvested on the ranch have scored in the SCI record book. The Ranger Creek Ranch Aoudad herd is heavily managed and only a select few Aoudad Hunts are offered each year.
