Weather Policy: Weather conditions can make or break a snow goose hunt. Depending on the fronts moving in or out, Rain and snow in the forcast, or even excessivly high winds every thing will effect feeding patterns and migration patterns. No matter what we have experienced all there is over the past almost 20 years chasing snow geese from Akansas to the Canadian border and weather at times can be a big pain in the butt. If the weather makes hunting conditions unbearable or even unsafe we may decide to try and re-schedule, postpone, or cut short any of our spring snow goose hunts.
Ultimately we just want everyone to be safe and have a great time in the field. So, if we decide to do any of the aforementioned on one of your snow goose hunts then it is because we know that it is either unsafe for us and for you to be in the field and or the weather is just going to make your hunt pretty unproductive.
If after being warned about weather conditions effecting your hunt with us and you still want to hunt we will by all means do our best to accomodate with you to make your trip as enjoyable as we can although knowing that it may be very unproductive.
But, if you do decide to come and hunt with us even after being warned about the conditions we can not re-schedule a hunt because of it being unproductive due to the situations out of our control and you are taking it upon yourselves to risk hunting and missing out on rescheduled hunt dates.
Dog Policy: We allow dogs in our sets depending on the situation. We ask that prior to your hunt that you contact us regarding your dogs and or bringing your dogs with you on your hunt. Some places we stay don't allow dogs in the hotels or motels so make sure that you contact us directly to find out if you can bring your dog before showing up.
We also may have others who are already bringing their dogs and as with the hunting it is a first come first serve basis. So, while setting up your hunt booking make sure to mention whether or not you are planning on bringing your dog.
We like to keep the number of dogs in the field to only 1 to 2 dogs per set and they will have already had to hunt together to do so. Dogs can really mess up a hunt if they are out running free and out of control and just remember that it may not make everyone in your party happy if the dog is out making the hunting that much harder.
If the dog is creating too much of a problem we may ask you to take the dog out of the field. No matter what we try to work with everyone and we love to have good working dogs in the field to help with retrieves and it also cuts down on the work we have to do to chase down cripples so we welcome the extra help.
