Spot and Stalk and Harvest Objective Tags are sold OTC for both Species. Bait Hunts are draw only. If interested in Baiting for Bears, contact us and we will help you apply for and gain points if needed in Utah's draw application period.

Cougar Hunts Start in November each year once snow is prevalent and we run Cougar hunts until mid to late March/April.

Hunters can expect cold conditions with residing snowfall. Hiking can be anywhere from 1-5 miles on cougar hunts with hounds, and same for Bear. Terrain is rocky, steep and rugged so hunters should be in good physical shape.
Here is the list of items you are definitely going to need:
Smaller Caliber Centerfire Rifles such as
.223 up to .30-06 are recommended but bring whatever you are comfortable with.
Airbows and Archery equipment can also be used!

This is a physically demanding hunt, with lots of hiking and following hounds, often times through steep canyons and deep snow. Please be advised that this hunt is not for the faint of heart, and hunters must be in good physical fitness in order to hike from 1 mile to 5 miles in 1 day in inclement weather conditions. This hunt may not be accessible to individuals with physical disabilities due to the terrain and weather conditions.
Ability to hike in moderate to extreme terrain and conditions. Must be able to pack own weapon and gear.
Hunters should expect lots of trail driving to cut tracks and the need to hike 1-5 miles in steep, rugged terrain.
Utah no longer requires hunters to aquire a OTC or draw Cougar Tag. All you need is a Utah Hunting License Non-Res License: $120 Res License :$55
Black Bear is still OTC on select seasons or draw for Summer Baiting or Limited Entry Hunts.
