Description

Decoying Pigeons just like Hunting Waterfowl! Our "Bread and Butter" is Hunting Pigeons over Decoys with shotguns. Hunting locations can vary, but are typically found in fields, dairies, feed lots and granary locations. When hunting in dairies or feed lots, group will be set up in the corrals with the cows or just outside of the corrals. Group will be sitting on bucket seats or chairs (which will be provided) when hunting in or outside of the corrals. For fields and granaries group will be using layout blinds (which will be provided) the majority of the time. Keep in mind this is not pass shooting like is found in Argentina, instead the pigeons will be decoying fifteen yards out from group right over the decoy spread. Here in the state of Idaho there are no seasons or limits associated with pigeons. The pigeons start flying shortly after sunrise and will be steady for two to three hours. Group will break around mid day, and head to a designated resting spot to get some lunch, or rest up before they head out to the afternoon hunt location. Pigeons will come back to feed locations early afternoon and will be steady for a few more hours. Our goal, is to harvest/retrieve approximately 100 pigeons per day as a group, sometimes goal can be doubled, tripled or more!

In addition to the original Shotgun Hunts, Pure Pigeon Outfitters is now offering Airgun Pigeon Hunts utilizing FX Airguns. Airguns and Ammunition can be provided for day use upon request. Shots can very from 10 yards to 150 yards, and anything in between.

What to Expect

Client is responsible for travel to Boise Idaho, and obtaining transportation. Client will be notified of Meeting Time and Place.

Weapon Details

If booking a shotgun/decoy hunt, Shotgun and Ammunition will need to be brought by the client. Rentals are a possibility upon request. If booking an Airgun Hunt, FX Airgun and Ammunition can be rented. Client is welcome to bring their own PCP Airgun 22 caliber or smaller

Pricing Details

Booking Hunts for 2025. If looking for a hunt in 2024, please reach out and inquire, as on occasion, we have cancellations, or may be able to accommodate.

Price varies from $300/gun per day, to $500/gun per day. Please Call or Text to inquire.

Each day includes Full morning and afternoon hunt.
Hunts will range between 8-10 hours per day Shotgun rental can be available to shooters for $20/person per day, depending on availability FX Airguns and Ammunition can be provided for additional cost We only guide during the best times of the year

Most of the time, we are able to park vehicles extremely close to our hunting locations, if not hunt from right outside the vehicle. Minimal mobility/walking required.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to handle a gun responsibly.

Permit & Tag Application Process

Need to buy an out of state license that is suitable for shooting pigeons. No Special Tags required.
