As the days shorten and the nights begin to cool, the season of the Great Canadian Goose draws nearer. By mid September the Harvest of wheat and barley is in full swing and so are the waterfowlers. The bird season opens mid September and offers unparalleled shooting for Canada Geese, and a myriad of ducks. Mallards and Pintails are the major species. These Giant Canada's are native to the area with weights of 14lb. being common. This is also the time the rivers lower and the large browns are most vulnerable.
