A Maine Black Bear Hunt. Now this is where the fun begins, the feeling of having a trophy black bear only yards from your tree stand. The rush is intense and OMM makes it possible. Or, try an action-packed bear hunt with hounds. With the help of our game cameras pursue that record book Maine black bear you've been dreaming about. We strive for quality and not quantity taking very few bear hunters per week.
Black bears are found in abundance around the lake and throughout the reserve, where they are attracted by many excellent food sources. Guided bear hunts begin in late August and take place from stands and blinds.
Bear over Bait: $3,000. (5 days hunting, 6 nights lodging) Bear with Hounds: $4,500. (3 days hunting, 6 nights lodging)

Stay at the Eagle Lake Sporting Camps or Village lakefront units. The rate includes American Plan accommodations including 3 meals a day, six nights stay, five days of guided hunting from modern tree stands or blinds, use of 5 watt private channel two-way radios for communication with the guide during the hunt, safety and hunting orientation meeting, and use of canoes and kayaks.
The guide will help recover and field dress your bear, drive you to the tagging station and butcher. He will also transport the hide to a local taxidermist.
Not included are transportation to the lodge, license & bear tag (about $182 for non resident), skinning, butchering, taxidermy, and gratuity. The butcher will handle skinning for around $75 and process, vacuum pack, and freeze the animal for around $1 per pound. He will also freeze the hide in a box or we can transport it to a local taxidermist. Client should bring a good cooler to transport the meat or insulated shipping boxes are available at about $30 each.
Available during non-hunting hours: Muskie fishing, goose hunting, ATV tours, fishing, trap shooting, archery course, boating, and conference rooms.
Reservation Policy:
A 50% deposit is required to confirm dates. Some trips, arranged more than a year in advance, only require a 25% deposit. In this case, another 25% deposit is due in January the year of the trip. Balance is due 30 days prior to the trip check-in date. The Maine Bear Hunt Over Bait balance is due by June 30 of the year of the hunt.
OMM Cancellation Policy:
All deposits and downpayments are completely non-refundable for any reason including, but not limited to weather, travel delays, illness, family or business emergencies, loss of income, early departure or late arrival, etc. Clients are advised to purchase trip insurance. Date changes may be available at our sole discretion and are subject to a 10% rebooking fee.
OMM reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to departure or to refuse any person as a member of any trip, in which case, OMM shall make a full refund which will constitute final and complete settlement with Client. Client acknowledges that all quoted rates, prices and fees are subject to change without notice and Client agrees to pay the same as a condition of proceeding with trip or have the option to cancel with full refund.
