We are happy to arrange Fishing Charters for groups of anglers. Hughes River Expeditions, Inc. guides deluxe fly fishing trips on the Middle Fork of the Salmon with expert guides. Most of our summer guests plan to include fly fishing in their Middle Fork trip. Serious fishermen can arrange "fishing boats" with 2 fishermen/boat & guide service.

Idaho • Hells Canyon boasts some of the best small mouth bass fishing on the planet. 60+ fish days are not uncommon. These feisty fish are great on a spinning rod or with a little instruction. They are great fun to catch on flies. There are 2-3 fishermen per boat which gives you plenty of time and space to fish all day. There is also time to try your luck at sturgeon fishing. There is nothing like fighting an 8 foot prehistoric fish. When your arms start to hurt sit back relax, take in the amazing scenery of Hells Canyon, and have a cold drink. There is also plenty of time for hiking, and exploring the Canyon's history. Abandoned homesteader cabins, Chinese mining sites, and ancient pictographs are just some of the sites you will see.

Riggins • King Salmon, the biggest & baddest Salmon of them all! It's amazing how bright and hard fighting these fish are, even when they're over 500 miles upstream of the Pacific Ocean! Come join us in the fun! Fall & Spring Chinook Salmon fishing are very different. In the spring we rush to where we think we have the best odds of finding fish, drop our anchor, and wait for the bite! In the Fall, we hop hole-to-hole searching for bites. Different seasons bring different styles of fishing. We don't exclusively target Salmon in the fall, we target them alongside Steelhead, too. Make sure you're prepared for both! We primarily fish two different ways for Salmon: Plugs, & side-drifting! We can retain hatchery or wild Fall Chinook, and must release wild Spring Chinook. There's nothing like bringing home a Salmon caught on the Salmon River! Fall Season: Mid September - October 31 Spring Season: Mid/Late May - Mid June Price: $240/angler (minimum 2 spots per boat)

Irwin • The South Fork of the Snake is an extremely productive fishery, offering native Snake River Cutthroat, Rainbow, Hybrid (Cut Bow),and Brown trout. We often catch fish over 20 inches, but most fish fall in the 15-17 inch range. The South Fork starts with nymph fishing in the early summer, then transitions to dry fly fishing by the end of June and through September. Fall offers great dry fly and streamer fishing.

Riggins • Drift boat fishing is our specialty. Enjoy padded seats with back rests, and an umbrella and heater if conditions get harsh. Standard drift fishing gear and lunch are provided on day trips. Fly fishing gear is not provided, but may be brought by guests.     We accommodate 2-3 people per boat. 1-6 day trips are available. In the fall these can be combined with chukar hunting. Our custom trips are why people like Cecil Andrus fish with us.

Two-day (one night) and five-day (four nights) options are available. We reserve the right to carefully select the appropriate watercraft to make your trip as safe and comfortable as possible. Our guides are professionals, some with decades of Salmon River fishing experience – dozens of fish per day is the norm! Traditional spin fishing is our most popular way to catch smallmouth bass, but we can accommodate fly fishermen as well. On these trips we are fishing all dry fly and all catch and release from the comfort and class of drift boats as we float 100 miles through the largest wilderness in the continental United States. These are very deluxe trips with top of the line camp accommodations and gourmet meals. Camps are set up and taken down for you each day by the hardworking crew so that when you arrive at the end of the day you can relax and enjoy your vacation. Camps consist of large tents for each two guests with cots, air mattresses, night stands and lanterns.
